| Teen Challenge
Residential Programs offer a very intense, faith-based
rehabilitation based on the regeneration that comes through a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ. Most Teen Challenge programs are
14 months in duration, although one center is six months, and one is 12
months. There is a highly supervised, daily schedule that includes a
work period of approximately 3-4 hours as well as 3-4 hours of
classroom instruction, with curriculum such as “Attitudes,”
“Temptation,” “Love and Accepting Myself,” “Anger and Personal Rights,”
“Growing Through Failure,” “Personal Relationships With Others,”
“Successful Christian Living,” and “Obedience to God and Man.”
A personalized studies curriculum is used for a
personalized approach for character development. GED classes are also
available for those who need their High School diploma. Visits and
calls are scheduled and limited. There are no opportunities for outside
employment until the reentry phase after completion of the program.
